All children are unique and special, and everyone is important to God because God created each one in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:27). God loves and cares for ALL of them, and He invites us, adults, to bring children to Him. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.” (Luke 18:16-17).
The Faith Formation program for Children with Special Needs is designed to instruct children who have disabilities such as Autism, ADHD, and Down syndrome.
In an atmosphere of welcoming, caring and sharing, this position seeks to provide a safe, quiet, joyful, religious environment where these children in kindergarten to 8th Grade of St. Catherine of Siena know that they are welcomed, valued, and loved, not just by God, but by our parish community, and can work according to their own pace and ability. The ultimate goal is to provide access to the sacraments for these special children of God.
